Mamertino D.O.C. is born on the hills of Milazzo, facing the Aeolian Islands.

Named after the Mamertines, who settled in the area during the Roman Empire and began producing this wine.

Grape variety:

Mamertino combines the robustness of Nero d'Avola, the elegance of Nocera, and the complexity of Nerello Mascalese, giving the wine structure and a deeply Sicilian character.

Tasting:
Ruby red color with violet reflections, it releases intense notes of underbrush and blueberry on the nose. On the palate, it is soft and balanced, with a light persistence and a complexity that reveals itself with every sip.

Recommended pairings
Perfect with saffron risotto, caponata, or a legume soup, it pairs wonderfully with dishes that highlight the flavors of Mediterranean cuisine.

Vigna Nica is the small winery - "Nica" in Sicilian means small - of Maria Genovese, a visionary winemaker who combines biodynamic techniques with organic cultivation. Maria always says: "If you take a hoe, dig and don't find worms, ants, it means the soil is not healthy". Maria takes care of her land with natural systems such as green manure and earthworm humus. Vigna Nica is located in the DOC area of Mamertino, on clayey and volcanic hills near Messina. From the vineyard you can see the sea.
