Boniviri was awarded second place at the Italian Network of Benefit Corporations (NISB) Impact Award for its 2020 Impact Report. This recognition highlights Boniviri’s serious and rigorous approach to sustainability, as emphasized in the award citation: “conducted an assessment capable of deepening and clarifying the aspects underlying the different elements of the evaluation process, also offering a clear overall vision (impact map).”
“We are proud to receive this prestigious recognition for our first Impact Report, which we worked on with great rigor,” said Corrado Paternò Castello, co-founder and director of Boniviri. “We believe the Impact Report is a fundamental document to ensure effective and transparent measurement of the results achieved and, at the same time, a tool that goes beyond mere reporting: our Impact Report helps us measure the effectiveness of our actions in relation to the mission we set ourselves and tells the commitment of all Boniviri, the valuable people involved in the project, to achieve our goal of creating value through food.”
In spring 2021, Boniviri launched the first Italian organic carbon-neutral extra virgin olive oil. The production of Boniviri oil involves calculating the CO₂ emissions generated along the entire supply chain, from field to table, reducing them through sustainable choices, and finally offsetting them through reforestation projects. The first initiative was carried out with the support of Rete Clima, a non-profit organization promoting Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability actions, in Milan and Val Camonica (Brescia), with a total of 20 trees planted and 50 m² of new forest area created.
