Boniviri Honored at Impact Award for Benefit Corporations

by Corrado Paternò Castello

Boniviri was awarded the second place at the Impact Award at the Italian Network of Benefit Companies (NISB) for its 2020 Impact Report. This recognition highlights Boniviri's serious and rigorous approach to sustainability, as underlined in the award motivation: "created an assessment capable of deepening and clarifying the aspects underlying the different elements of the evaluation process, also offering a clear overall vision (impact map)"

“We are proud to receive this prestigious recognition for our first Impact Report, which we have worked on with great rigor,” said Corrado Paternò Castello, co-founder and director of Boniviri. “We are convinced that the Impact Report is a fundamental document to guarantee effective and transparent measurement of the results achieved and at the same time a tool that goes beyond mere reporting: our Impact Report helps us measure the effectiveness of our actions with respect to the mission we have set ourselves and tells the story of the commitment of all Boniviri, the valuable people who participate in the project, to achieve our goal of creating value with food.”

Boniviri launched the first carbon neutral Italian organic extra virgin olive oil in spring 2021. The production of Boniviri oil requires that the CO₂ emissions generated by the oil along the entire supply chain, from the field to the table, are calculated, reduced through sustainable choices and, finally, eliminated through reforestation projects. The first intervention was carried out with the support of Rete Clima, a non-profit organization that promotes Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability actions, in Milan and Val Camonica (Brescia), for a total of 20 trees planted and 50 m² of new forestation surface.
