In Italy, small agricultural enterprises suffer from adverse conditions such as the increase in production costs, the risks associated with climate change, the difficulty of selling their products at a fair price due to the high competitiveness of the market and foreign products.

For these reasons, farmers are often led to abandon their agricultural activity and sell their land. Large producers benefit from this, as they often promote intensive agriculture, at the expense of biodiversity and local excellence.

Boniviri wants to support small farms that produce exceptional food products (our "Boniviri"), becoming an active part of the supply chain and putting in direct communication the two extremes: those who produce high quality products in an ethical way and those who want to buy excellent food products, having security of origin and wanting to contribute to a fairer and more sustainable economy. For this reason, Boniviri is developing a Sustainability and Quality Protocol for its growers, aimed at making the quality of the products offered homogeneous, maintaining their distinctive local characteristics and the sustainability of production practices.

The emissions of greenhouse gases, which have generated the phenomenon of global warming, are the cause of extreme climatic events such as floods, drought, desertification, heat and
cold waves. Despite the fact that agriculture continues to play an irreplaceable role in mitigation, agricultural products, through their entire life cycle, can cause an impact on climate warming. For example, the analysis of the life cycle of extra virgin olive oils has highlighted that among the most impacting phases of there are those related to the cultivation of olives, the production of packaging materials, the distribution of the finished product. By purchasing Boniviri products, you are sure that their carbon footprint will be measured and zeroed, thanks to the commitment of farmers and oil millers and the emissions compensation program carried out by Boniviri.
Boniviri is carrying out an analysis on its extra virgin olive oil value chain, involving its growers and the oil mills partners of the project with the aim of quantifying the greenhouse gas emissions generated along the supply chain. study will be described year after year in the Boniviri Impact Report. Once its impact has been quantified, Boniviri every year undertakes to offset all the greenhouse gas emissions generated by its oils, through reforestation programs in Italy. Boniviri, buys a product that will be neutral from the point of view of emissions: a positive choice for the environment and for future generations.

We committed ourselves to develop products that are as ecofriendly as possible. We have rethought traditional packaging, keeping only the necessary components and simplifying the complexity that is often created by marketing needs. Our
choices started from one goal: to choose the best materials for quality and safety, from a sustainability and waste reduction. It is a challenge
that we have taken up, but we have not yet won: our search for the best possible packaging in terms of quality, safety and sustainability evolves from year to year.
It seems absurd, but despite the fact that Italy imports more \ u0300 extra virgin olive oil than it produces, about 25% of the
oil produced in Italy remains unsold. A great waste. Regarding packaging, many components are purely aesthetic and sometimes difficult to recover, due to the materials used and the lack of awareness
of recycling and disposal practices. Thanks to your contribution, Boniviri can assure its producers the sale of all the oil they produce, avoiding waste. Furthermore, Boniviri has chosen a minimal and environmentally friendly packaging, without any compromise with quality and safety.
