A unique wine, perfect as a gift or to enjoy on special occasions.
Terroir:
Mamertino DOC riserva is born on the hills of Milazzo, facing the Aeolian Islands. It takes its name from the Mamertini, who settled in the area at the time of the Roman Empire and began producing this wine.
Grape variety:
Mamertino combines the robustness of Nero d'Avola, the elegance of Nocera and the complexity of Nerello Mascalese, giving the wine structure and a profoundly Sicilian character.
Winemaking:
Prolonged maceration on the skins and fermentation at controlled temperature (18-24°C) with pumping over and delestage. Aged 12 months in 5 hl French oak tonneaux, to enrich the aromatic profile.
Tasting:
Mamertino has a ruby red color with purple reflections. On the palate it is velvety and well-balanced, with sweet notes of plum and cherry. The aroma is intense and recalls dark fruit jam.
Recommended pairings:
With its soft and rounded taste it enhances first courses based on ragù, red meats and mature cheeses.
Conservation:
Serve at 16-18 degrees. Drink now or store for up to 3 years.
