Romeo del Castello Farm is a family business now run by Rosanna Romeo del Castello and her daughter Chiara Vigo. Located between two parks, the Nebrondi Park and the Alcantara Park, this location is well known for the beauty of the landscape that, over the years, has given the name "Happy Heart" to the road that crosses that area.

HISTORY

As Chiara and Rosanna walk through the fields made of lava, earth and water, they recount with emotion how everything around them manages to endure. It is the fruit of courageous choices: how could you not think that their work is extraordinary?

In 1981 the Etna made his last eruption just few meters from the heart of Romeo del Castello Farms. The lava spares the house but, unfortunately, it submerged several hectares of vineyard under a black blanket. That lava wall, today, constitutes the land where the olive trees had proudly reborn.

Chiara and Rosanna try to protect the history of this land. They are welcoming, always willing to open their door to people deeply interested to know more and more about their work.

Their olives, native varieties grown over the decades on lava soils, are cultivated among pear trees, vineyards, chestnut trees and oaks.

It's here, in this context, that their oil comes from and we are proud to promote. From the land to your table you'll be able to taste the respect for nature and for the local biodiversity. Chiara and Rosanna are the first producers who joined the project and with whom we are proud to walk side by side.

BONIVIRI

Boniviri's protocol

Boniviri selects small Italian farms that have three fundamental characteristics :

They are creators of excellent products in terms of quality and gastronomy

They are committed to a path of sustainability and social impact

With their work they are custodians of local values and heritage

Boniviri follows the producers during all cultivation processes, working together with them to ensure quality and sustainability.

For this reason, it is developing a shared protocol and a digital platform useful for mapping the productivity performances and attention to the environment of the partner companies of the project.
